Twilight Release of Eclipse Facing Competition in 2010
The Twilight release date for Eclipse, the third film in the Twilight Saga following New Moon, is set for June 30, 2010 but has been crammed into a very busy summer period for big-budget releases. Related to the bevy of films around the release of The Twilight Saga Eclipse, Toy Story 3 will be released on June 18, 2010. Executives at Summit Entertainment are hoping there will be enough time between Eclipse and Toy Story to avoid an overlap. Filming on Eclipse is set to begin in August in Vancouver ahead of the Twilight sequel New Moon, which makes its theatrical debut on November 20, 2009.
