Werewolves vs Vampires:Which side are you?

The Twilight New Moon promotional tour is in full swing with stars Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson, and Kristen Stewart circling the globe and doing interviews. Fans are coming out in droves to catch a glimpse of these immensely popular actors. New Moon fever is everywhere. This brings into question who the favorite characters of Twilight New Moon will be. Vampires or Werewolves?

The story in New Moon progresses as Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson, and Bella, played by Kristen Stewart, are less of an item in the New Moon film. Robert Pattinson, who was the main character in the first “Twilight” has more of a supporting role in this film. The leading character is the newly buff and hunky Taylor Lautner, who is a werewolf. The Wolfpack clips that have been released are quickly gaining on the Vampires in terms of popularity.
Fans all over the world are taking sides on which one is their favorite. Either way, it can only spell success for this highly anticipated and marketed film. The November 20th release of Twilight New Moon is sure to be a huge event for Summit Entertainment along with Vampire and Werewolf lovers all everywhere.

Twilight Saga: Eclipse Finds Its Vampire Maria

http://www.dreadcentral.com/img/news/aug09/catalinamoreno.jpg

Now that Twilight sequel New Moon is edging closer to its November release date, eyes are turning to the third film, Eclipse, which begins lensing in Vancouver in just a few more days. Casting updates have been coming in fast and furious for the new installment helmed by David Slade, including this latest bit on who would be portraying the vampire Maria.

Per THR's Risky Biz Blog, Catalina Sandino Moreno, who was nominated for an Oscar for her role in Maria Full of Grace and also appeared in Steven Soderbergh's epic Che, has been tapped to portray yet another Maria, described as a woman who tries to create a newborn army of vampires, recruiting the Confederate soldier Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) to her cause.

Moreno's casting adds further gravitas to Eclipse, which is shaping up to be the most talent-laden chapter in the series what with Slade at the controls and heavyweights like Bryce Dallas Howard and the recently announced Jack Huston filling in the gaps around established leads Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Ashley Greene, and Taylor Lautner.

I suspect we'll be hearing lots more on this one between now and its June, 2010 debut.

'Eclipse' Already Looking For More Vampires and Werewolves

The thing with doing the Twilight fans at such a short time is, you'll never know when exactly they'll stop working on one and start on another.  It's a hell of a lot, come to think of it--Twilight almost swept the MTV Movie Awards last Sunday (which was, let's face it, a given), New Moon just released its first trailer even if shooting is still underway, and Eclipse is already casting.  Yep, Eclipse is already casting.

The third film in the Twilight saga, set to be directed by 30 Days of Night helmer David Slade, has begun looking for at least three characters.  It's up and running, indeed, especially if you consider that they'll begin shooting the film in August.  Here's who they're looking for, and how they describe the characters--well, sure, you know who they are, but it doesn't hurt to know, right?

Casting notice one: Riley, "a handsome, blond, clean-cut college boy who falls victim to Victoria" and "plays an integral role in Victoria's attempt to murder Bella Swan."  They're looking for someone who's in his early to mid-20s.

Casting notice two: Seth Clearwater, "a tall, gangly-limbed boy with a huge, happy grin" who "idolizes Jacob."

Casting notice three: Leah Clearwater, who is "tall and slender with beautiful skin and short cropped black hair," and would've been considered beautiful if not for "the perpetual scowl she carries due to a broken heart and her anger issues."  As with New Moon, they're hoping that Native American actors will fill the last two roles.

So, sure, that means Eclipse is in full swing, but what about Breaking Dawn?  No official word yet, it seems.  "I'm hoping that they make four," Peter Facinelli said during the MTV Movie Awards.  "I mean, if New Moon does well, I think they'll make four."

Ashley Greene's hopes are, well, farther.  "They're just going to have to make a Twilight Five," she quipped.  "I will be forever known as a Twilight girl."
