Filming is underway on the set of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and according to several sources, the much-coveted roles of Leah and Seth Clearwater have been cast.

As fans know, Summit Entertainment held an open casting call for the roles back in June, and until now, no official announcements had been made in regards to casting. But according to Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood, Julia Jones and BooBoo Stewart are filling the roles of Leah and Seth.

Jones is a model/actress and has appeared in several episodes of ER. Stewart has an impressive resume for having only been born in 1994. He's appeared in episodes of Everybody Hates Chris and Dante's Cove.
What do you think of the cinematic Seth and Leah?

Twilight Release of Eclipse Facing Competition in 2010

The Twilight release date for Eclipse, the third film in the Twilight Saga following New Moon, is set for June 30, 2010 but has been crammed into a very busy summer period for big-budget releases. The Twilight Saga film, Eclipse, starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner won’t have a Transformers movie or another Harry Potter to contend with but the upcoming Twilight film will have M Night Shyamalan’s Avatar: The Last Airbender to face two days after Eclipse hits theatres on July 2, 2010.
The July 4 weekend is a busy time at the North American box office and the Twilight inclusive 2010 looks to be no different. After the Twilight Saga release of Eclipse, the long in-development hell comic book project, The Green Hornet has finally been given a release date of July 9, 2010 but the Seth Rogen movie is still in pre-production and filming hasn’t gotten underway.
Can Eclipse keep the Twilight Saga momentum going as strong as it currently is for New Moon? The rapid production and release of all three Twilight Saga films has led many to believe that the overwhelming Twilight and New Moon media attention could burnout Eclipse before it has time to hit theatres. It’s not a matter of if, but …
Related to the bevy of films around the release of The Twilight Saga Eclipse, Toy Story 3 will be released on June 18, 2010. Executives at Summit Entertainment are hoping there will be enough time between Eclipse and Toy Story to avoid an overlap. Filming on Eclipse is set to begin in August in Vancouver ahead of the Twilight sequel New Moon, which makes its theatrical debut on November 20, 2009.

‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ Shoot Dates Revealed!

This seemingly minor blip of news is going to be very exciting for a lot of you readers. The third movie entry in the “Twilight” series, “Eclipse,” will shoot at Vancouver Film Studios between August 17 and October 31 (Halloween wrap!), ComingSoon reports. The David Slade-directed adaptation of Stephanie Meyer’s novel will come from a script by series scribe (and occasional “Dexter” writer) Melissa Rosenberg.

The Halloween wrap is perfectly timed to coincide with what will likely be the start of a massive publicity push leading into the release of “New Moon” on November 20. “Eclipse” is currently set for a June 30, 2010 release, a fact which I’m sure that many of you readers are already well aware of. So mark those calendars if you haven’t already, and prepare for an increasing onslaught of “Eclipse” news as the wheels spin faster and faster.

David Slade Talks The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

http://twilight-review.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/eclipse1.jpg

FEARnet recently managed to track down Eclipse director David Slade and asked him about all things Twilight. When asked what he would be bringing to the franchise, he said:

I don't really know. We haven't even started shooting yet. It is darker, and there is a lot more action than the previous two. We are going to focus on the origin stories of several characters, like Jasper, and show how Bella will decide between Edward and Jacob.

Origin stories always go down well with the fans and, after Slade's negative comments about the saga were publicly aired on his Twitter account, it looks like he may have redeemed himself with the fanbase. What do you think, Twilighters — should Eclipse be a darker movie? And which origin story would you like to see most: Jasper's or Rosalie's?
